Yesterday, I was working on a discussion/rant for this section, when I came across two quotes, which, taken together, make up a pretty fucking good rant, all by themselves…. Didn’t get to this yesterday…. too tired. Yes, I do know the Tarot card of the Jester; it is one of the most powerful in the deck, as it should be, for it represents Chaos as well as Reason, to me, if not to the Chinese, and, as such is the most Human of cards, expressing the duality of our nature….
Being, also, retired, on disability as well as from the State of California on a service retirement, I know well the power it gives over our time…. and, I feel it’s a perk well-earned, for having given my time to others for much of my adult life… Some of that was chosen duty, as raising kids; other parts were less of a choice, doing what had to be done to take care of my family. But, like Lazarus has said, “When the ship lifts, all bills are paid. No regrets, ever.”
And, you don’t work for free; you work for love, and life…. neither of which has any monetary value, thankfully….
